New York Working Families Party
NYWFP
New Deal Strategies is proud to have served as senior advisers to senior leadership at the NY Working Families Party Party, consulting across high-level electoral strategy, digital campaigning and messaging, narrative strategy, and press and media relations. We’ve worked collaboratively to build up NYWFP’s brand, uplift the power of the Party and its endorsee slates, and highlight its ability to bring elected officials closer towards a Working Families agenda.
For the 2024 general election, New Deal Strategies worked with NYWFP to develop a comprehensive strategy across field, earned media, and paid media for the #VoteWFP campaign to elect candidates at every level on the Working Families Party ballot line, Row D. NDS secured coverage for Row D in outlets including Politico, The Nation, and Gothamist. The fusion-voting campaign was a massive success; Row D received almost 400,000 votes across the state (including 17 upstate counties), and votes on the WFP line increased while votes on the Democratic Party line decreased, relative to 2020. This ended up delivering the margin of victory in swing races across the state, flipping Republican seats upstate for progressive populist U.S. Reps. John Mannion and Josh Riley.
New Deal Strategies helped spearhead NYWFP’s 2025 #RankTheSlate initiative to elect Zohran Mamdani as New York’s next Mayor. New Deal Strategies has also helped NYWFP create viral social media content while leading the high-level messaging strategy for the campaign to block disgraced former Gov. Andrew Cuomo from the Democratic nomination for Mayor.
