Voto Latino
2024 Latino Civic Engagement
In 2024, Camille Rivera served as a senior advisor to Voto Latino, a leading civic engagement nonprofit focused on educating and empowering a new generation of Latino voters. Alongside Voto Latino senior leadership, our team mapped out plans for the organization’s community engagement and civic efforts, and cultivated relationships with similarly-focused groups across the country, including UnidosUS, the Hispanic Federation, Service Employees International Union, and community organizations in AZ, NC, NV, and PA.
New Deal worked closely with Voto Latino on rallies, events, and actions to expand visibility of the organization’s actions and increase contact with unregistered voters in battleground states. This included text banks that reached more than a million voters, community-driven letter writing campaigns, surrogate and community-partner-led GOTV events in NV and PA, and organized calls with labor for Hispanic Heritage Month.
Our team members also served as liaisons between Voto Latino and high-level validators, ensuring unified messaging to help register Latino voters and get out the vote. This included working closely with presidential nominee Kamala Harris, former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Julián Castro, Senator Ruben Gallego, and national figures in the labor movement. Camille also oversaw Voto Latino youth engagement on college campuses, celebrity and influencer engagement, as well as managed labor relations strategy for the organization, raising over a million dollars used to engage Latino voters and joint activities.
